2016 has been blessed with so many good dramas. Starting from one of the biggest Korean drama hits, Descendants of the Sun, dramas of various genres kept us from boredom at all time. Not only did we enjoy watching Song Joong-ki’s charisma, Park Bo-gum’s killer smile, Jun Ji-hyun’s irresistible beauty, and whatnot, but we also appreciated soundtracks of varying genres, from ballad to hip-hop. Wrapping up this year, we’ve listed some of the best Korean drama soundtracks released this year. This is only a short list, so if you have any recommendation you’d like to share, please feel free to help us update the list by leaving a comment below!

1. Chen & Punch – Everytime ( Descendants of the Sun) It’s the song that comes up in your mind whenever you think of popular scenes of Descendants of the Sun, right? Suran – Step Step ( Jealousy Incarnate) Jealousy Incarnate, a romantic comedy drama starring Gong Hyo-jin, Jo Jung-suk, and Go Kyung-pyo, chose indie stars like Suran, BrotherSu, and Ra.D over big names, which has proven to be a great choice. Gummy – Moonlight Drawn by Clouds ( Moonlight Drawn by Clouds) Gummy’s powerful yet appealing voice perfectly demonstrates the dramatic relationship between Ra-on and Lee Young. 4. Beenzino – Up Up and away (Prod by Shimmy Twice) ( Entourage) Korean remake of popular American comedy series, Entourage, set hip-hop as the theme of soundtrack album, which matches the overall ambiance of the drama exquisitely.

Hip-hop fans in Korea especially welcomed Beenzino’s collaboration with Shimmy Twice in this number, which marks the reunion of Jazzyfact. Crush – Beautiful ( Guardian: the Lonely and Great God) Crush’s voice, song’s mood, and all those scenes this song reminds me of It’s just beautiful. + Natalie suggests V & JIN (BTS) – Even If I Die, It’s You ( Hwarang) Alexis suggests I.O.I – I Love You, I Remember You ( Scarlet Heart: Ryeo) “This song tells an extraordinary story. My favorite OST of 2016!” By Heewon Kim.

Screenshot from Tomorrow’s Cantabile As every drama lover knows, the OST is the backbone of a drama. Used to convey unspoken feelings, set the tone of a scene, warn of or wake you up when the final credits roll, the drama OST is a powerful tool and when used correctly, it can bring a depth of emotion to a drama that would otherwise be unattainable. Of course every drama lover also knows that a drama OST can be used to inflict an unbelievable amount of pain on a viewer. The constant repetition of a single song can cause even the stoutest of drama addicts to crack but for the most part, OSTs are a wonderful addition to an impending disaster drama and coincidentally, your favorite playlist. With that being the case I thought I’d share some of the more memorable OST tracks I’ve come across during my adventures through the Dramaverse; of course whether or not you add them to your playlist is entirely up to you. (Personally, I’d rather give myself a paper cut and pour lemon juice on it than listen to “Almost Paradise” one more time.) Zombie’s OST Playlist 1. “Touch Love” – Yoon Mirae (윤미래), Master’s Sun (주군의 태양) 2.

“Promise” – Lee Hong Ki (이홍기), featuring Jung Yong Hwa (정용화), You’re Beautiful (미남이시네요) 3. “Moment” – Changmin (심창민), Heirs (왕관을 쓰려는 자, 그 무게를 견뎌라 – 상속자들) 4. “Auditory Hallucination” – Jang Jae In (장재인), featuring NaShow (나쑈), Kill Me, Heal Me (킬미, 힐미) 5. “Almost Paradise” – T-Max (티 맥스), Boys Over Flowers (꽃보다 남자) 6.
